Tim Ho Wan, Chatswood: A Review

Meat lovers, rejoice!

The (in)famous one Michelin starĀ Tim Ho Wan, known for it’s unique baked pork buns and long queues has reached our shores and set up shop in Chatswood. Nothing has changed in terms of the buns and the queues, except in Sydney it is an actual restaurant instead of a hole-in-the-wall like it is in Hong Kong.

SCTen Fat Duck Competition

I love my job. Sometimes I don’t, but mostly I do and there’s nothing else I can think of that I would want as a career. As part of the perks of this job, there are many events and competitions that are held for the industry and I am always one of those people that like getting involved.

A few weeks ago, a foodie competition was held which goes over 5 weeks of weekly challenges. The grand prize: one of three golden tickets toĀ a seat at Heston Blumenthal’sĀ The Fat Duck, Melbourne.

Holy mother of god. Hell yes.

Markets At the Courtyard @ Shangri-La Hotel

At the very last minute I was told about a food market that was bring held that very night, and the existence of bao-gers. I was intrigued.

The Shangri-La Hotel at The Rocks was holding an event as part of the Vivid Light Festival in Sydney. Various restaurants and dessert makers were involved, including those within the Shang as well.

It was very crowded when we arrived, but it was dinnertime. Flashing lights, funky music and yummy aromas are words I would use to describe the atmosphere.
